Partnering with title sponsors Del Norte Credit Union and Southwest Care, The Food Depot, and Albertsons Market, Hutton Broadcasting will host a one-day Stuff the Bus food drive in Santa Fe.
Stuff the Bus takes place Friday, December 15, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Albertsons Market parking lot on Zafarano.
The Stuff the Bus food drive will help fill the pantries at The Food Depot just in time for the Christmas holidays. In addition to non-perishable food items, personal care products and diapers are always needed.
Albertsons Market will have $20 donations pre-packaged to make shopping easier. Of course, you can donate items from your own pantry, as long as they are unopened, non-perishable, and not past their expiration date.
If you can’t attend but would like to help, you can make a donation online directly to The Food Depot here, which will be counted as part of the Stuff the Bus campaign.
Supporting the Santa Fe Community
Hutton Broadcasting has a long history of supporting area nonprofit organizations. This year, inspired by the Four Corners radio stations that recently became part of Hutton Broadcasting, the Santa Fe team jumped at the chance to replicate the Stuff the Bus success that the other stations have had for more than 20 years.
In Cortez and Durango, Colorado, and Farmington, New Mexico, Stuff the Bus campaigns have supported their community food pantries, providing thousands of pounds of food donations, plus cash donations.
The Food Depot
The Food Depot is an essential resource for people experiencing food insecurity in Santa Fe and nine Northern New Mexico counties. They report that one in eight people in New Mexico experiences food insecurity and that one in every five children faces this problem.
In Santa Fe country alone, there are approximately 16,940 individuals who face food insecurity, including 5,430 children. Learn more about the scope of the food insecurity problem in our area.

Richard Eeds of KTRC will also be there at 10 a.m. and Kidd Corona of Outlaw Country and Jam’n will visit with donors from noon until 2 p.m.
They’ll be talking with folks coming to Stuff the Bus, plus sponsors and staff of The Food Depot.
How to Help Stuff the Bus
Come by the Albertsons Market on Zafarano on Friday, December 15, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Bring food and personal care items to donate or drop into Albertsons to pick up some of the most needed items from The Food Depot’s list. With your help, we can make the holidays much happier for families in need.
Remember, you can also make a donation online.
Most Requested Items
Only non-perishable food items can be accepted, with nothing homemade or opened. The Food Depot’s most requested items are canned protein, canned fruits and vegetables, grains, rice, oats, flours, nut butters, jellies, soup, pasta, sauces, and ready, pre-packaged meals. They ask that nothing be brought in glass jars. Please ensure that foods are not past their expiration date.
