Hutton Broadcasting has partnered with SWAIA, the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts, since 2021 to publish the Official Santa Fe Indian Market Artist Directory & Booth Guide. This year, the partnership has expanded to include a new video about the popular market.
SWAIA and Hutton Broadcasting worked with two Santa Fe art galleries, Gemsong and Blue Rain, to produce a short documentary about the Santa Fe Indian Market as well as the sponsoring galleries and some of their Indigenous artists. The video can be seen on Hutton Hotel Channels and on SantaFe.com. The goal is to use innovative forms of media to promote Santa Fe Indian Market as it moves into its second century.
About Santa Fe Indian Market
In August, visitors flock to Santa Fe from across the country and around the world to visit one of the world’s largest juried Indigenous art markets. Hundreds of artists from more than 250 tribes participate in the market, selling their creations in 10 categories, including pottery, basketry, textiles, jewelry, sculpture, 2D art, and more. The 2023 Santa Fe Indian Market, operated by SWAIA, takes place August 19 and 20.
Video Takes the SWAIA Partnership to a New Level
Jamie Schulze, executive director of SWAIA, says, “One of the many things we enjoy about our partnership with Hutton Broadcasting is their innovative approach to media. We are always looking for ways to increase our digital and online footprint and this new video series is a perfect way to do this.”
About the new video project, Vice-President of Sales Art Trujillo said, “Our team is excited to work with all of our partners on fresh new video content that will be shared with the world.”
Elisa Hutton, director of video production, who managed the project, said, “It’s always fulfilling to work with our partners and clients to create videos that tell the stories of who they are and what they do. Indian Market is such an important event for Indigenous artists and we’re proud to help bring attention to it.”
“It’s been an honor to work with SWAIA to produce the Official Santa Fe Indian Market Artist Directory and Booth Guide to help tell the world about Indigenous art and artists,” said Director of Publishing Cheryl Fallstead. “And now Hutton Broadcasting is telling these important stories on more of our platforms, including Hutton City Sites, and using our talented video production team to illustrate the stories.”
